All Lexus LFAs allocated to S'pore SOLD!

When Borneo Motors released its sales of the All-New Lexus LFA last month, all units allocated to Singapore were snapped up fast.

Priced at 1,248,000 for the basic model, and $1,478,000 for the Nurburging package, the OMVs are going at $462k and $560k respectively - MUCH higher than a lot of Ferraris and Lambos out there.

Production dates are to be further advised by TMC Japan. But we should expect to see the first unit running on Singapore roads sometime in mid 2011.

Interested buyers can pay a $80,000 deposit to Borneo Motors for Borneo Motors to request for more allocation to Singapore. However, there are no promises that Japan will allocate more untis to Singapore as the LFA is a 500-units limited production worldwide.

It was rumored that Japan has turned down Sultan of Brunei's request for the LFA.

its lexus 1st attempt at a super car. the handling and performance of the car is uncertain. u have all the numbers to prove it, but ultimately it boils down to pedigree which other super car brands have for decades. the pricing just does not justify it.

Btw why would Lexus turn down a purchase order from Sultan of Brunei? It does not make sense unless Lexus feel that if the Sultan drive it, it will lower the brand value??? or is he a credit risk in loan application? ;-)

just wanna understand the thoughts of LFA buyers. are they hardcore toyota fans or ppl who think that this will truly be the next big thing. if thats the case, LFA will be a classic years down the road.

i think the buyers are prob. collectors just to keep the car
its feels almost like when Toyota made the 2000GT long long long long ago...

If I have the money, I buy murcie, balance I buy a ground level flat in some old block, knock down all the walls and park my lambo there. I think still have change.

Okay, not to OT, but why is the production cost so high? Because of the CFRP tub chassis?
