You may also want to consider Hurriane air filters. Check it out here:

I installed it on my E39 525i and it improves my mid and high end power that can be felt immediately when I dropped in the filter.
If you are interested and if you are driving an E46, I have one that I can sell to you. Bought at S$120 2 weeks ago but you may give me your best offer. I'm upgrading to an E60.
