Hi bro, normally when we drive a car for long. The air con tend to emit a non friendly smell. Not smelly. But it's just very mechanical smell. Lol. Sorry bro. I dunno how to define it. Is there a carbon filter for the air con to make the smell go away ? Or is there any other way ? 316i owner here bros.

Likely you need to change the cabin filter. See if that makes a difference. Or you can set your aircon circulation to manual instead of auto.

Yes bro. Cabin filter. I use auto. But if I were to change. What brand is good ? Or any carbon brand will do bro ?

Brand wise i think there is only one brand in the market. Can either get from stockist or i have this contact from carousell that can help you install as well

I drove 2017 318i and experienced this smell issue (sometimes matellic sometimes mouldy) before even after i replaced the aircon cabin filter. My friends told me to turn on the fan speed to at least level 2 and lower the temperature to like 21 degrees as a default regular setting. And every week, turn max A/C for a few minutes. Before that, i usually set fan speed to level 1 and temperature to 23 degree as default. After adopting their advice, i have never encountered any bad smell for months till now. I was also quite surprised that aircon setting can make a difference.

Give it a try. At least it works for me.
