Air-con blower air is warm.

each time i turn on my car engine, the air-con blower will blow out warm air first b4 cooling off with cool air. WHY is this so ?

Apparently it is normal. My car is the same and a few others i know as well. Though i cannot understand the engineering logic behind it.

Hi there - just to let you know i am having the same issues as well.

For me, when i turn off the aircond by pressing * hotair comes out instead of normal room temp air.

if thats normal, i am also puzzled...

My guess is that the car is build for dual climate that's y for the first few seconds there is warm air that comes out from the air con vent.. Dun shoot me hor cos l am also facing the same problem.

It is not a problem. It is normal thing since don't know when. Not sure? Can try out my E39 air con.

My ride's experiencing the same thing. Blows out hot air when I turn the A/C on first thing in the morning, if I switch off the aircon before pressing the Ignition off button on the night before.

Strangely though, if the air con was set to Auto and the car was `shutdown' without switching the a/c off the night before, the a/c blows out cool air the next time the car's switched on.

Does 2nd scenario holds when you do that in the daytime? Ie not after you leave the car overnight?

I face the same prob. Sent my ride to PML for a check and was told that the evaporator fan coil is leaking and needs to be changed. They will also be changing the compressor. Fortunately, it is under warranty... but they need 3days to replace it.

If I turn off the music, I seem to hear a v soft "E" sound... not sure if this is normal. The sound isn't always there. What should I do?

the other day, park my car and off the engine. realised the air con still running. start - stop a few times still the same.

call Ah Wee and he advised me to do a batt reset. did it and all went ok.

hopefully it will be not resurface.

Could be a blower resistor failure. Apparently quite common in BMWs. BMWs have many funny problems
