AH BENG test-drives 335 Coupe

Just back from a test drive. Anyone thinking of getting a Coupe should just forget the rest and get this car. Its simply


Car fully seated with 4 pax to test its much acclaimed power. Acceleration ...very fast. On AYE before the RPM reaches 4000rpm, car is already at 120/130km/h. Scared the shit out of the SE with my Beng driving spirit until he gotta say "In front got camera ah. This is our only test car ah siao aa" .


Ok....Turbo lag? There is none :woowooo: amazing !


Comfort and noise level. Just about right. Very smooth despite driven hard.

Steptronic paddles.....very cool, easy to use. Right hand dig my nostrils(oops...Sorry), left hand shift gears thru paddles +/- using just fingers. Overtook a camry from 90km/h at M6 gear, down shifted to M4 with 2 quick tabs on the paddle, depress throttle slightly...vroooommmm....overtook the car with ease n next thing saw the speedo showing 130km/h :woottt:

Did hard cornering on Dover Road on way back to showroom. Very balanced. Little body roll. Chassis appears very sturddy, maybe bcos its a coupe.

Great acceleration, smooth, sports feel...everything is there


Now I really feel like throwing away my 320i :furious:

The most amazing thing about the turbo engine in the 335i is that the power keeps coming and coming as the rev goes from 1500rpm all the way to red.
You won't feel fast however because of the linear delivery. no psst psst.. just like the NA 3 litre lump except the extended power deliveries.but IT IS fast awright!
A very refine beast indeed!
Anyone able to get below $238K yet? Also was told booking is for Feb 07 production with delivery in Jun 07. Apparently the 335i is on allocation. True?

yeah.... thats also the reason why I try to stay off it for a while first... no good to test drive a car like the 335... no good...

sure cannot sleep at night one...

u r right there is no stock. SE said next booking is for Jan production batch. and shld arrive between April to Jun. Errr...dont tell so many people hor hia-dees:shhhh:
I ask the SE can chip up the performance further

no matter how good the 335 is, it will never match the new v8 M3 for power, performance.... it wont, cos BMW is too clever for that... the 335 is just a very determined effort to put some distance between BMW's top of the line non-M cars and the rest of the competition from merc, audi etc...

M3 will still be a different animal..

so when M3 comes then ...... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
