Aftermarket headunit and constant power

Recently installed Pioneer 2650BT on E93 335i '09. Memory and settings only retained for 1-2 hours after car ignition off and locked. Apparently the constant power is switched off when the car goes to sleep. Anyone knows anyway around this?

Using harness meant for E93 for its plug and play.

I believe what you have said, the main culprit is where they obtained the constant power source from. Once tapped from correct source will solve this problem. "Harness for BMW" may just means for easy connection via connectors (plug and play) only...... unless it is from BMW original.

Tap directly from battery through a fuse will help.

Harness meaning it sits between the head unit and the connector ?
