hi, i'm rather new to watches n stuff, so need some advice/opinion…
anyone heard of the brand Dievas (German Watch).
i'm keen on getting the Dievas Focal: Dievas Watches - Focal
is it a known watch amongst watch lovers/collectors?
any opinion/advise will be most appreciated

Re: Advise Needed: Timepiece Dievas Focal

Not listed a brand on passions watch ....... I guess not a collectors item.

Re: Advise Needed: Timepiece Dievas Focal

Dievas is usually known as the more budget and maybe classified as entry level for mechanical watches. Fit & finishing is not bad. From the way your question is phrased, it seems that you need to know whether it is a recognised brand before buying? My advice, buy it only if you like it. Residual value should not be a consideration and with the price point, I would think they are a great bargain for starters.

Owned one with Cali Dial before. Quality built and value for money.

Re: Advise Needed: Timepiece Dievas Focal

thanks for the replies guys.

yes, i was wondering if it's a known brand, as was hunting for a tough n reliable dive watch, as i don't leave my safety in the mercy of anything w batteries ;), and a horologist n watch aficionado intro me to this model...

i personally never heard of it previously, but reading through, learnt it's probably closest in character to Sinn, which was my original choice... hard to find many watches with all parts made from fully hardened steel (1300Hv) near such a price.

in any case, great to learn from your feedback too. will touch n feel it first before making a plunge ;)
thanks again!

The Rogue Review: Search results for dievas

just read this guy's blog last night. He does some reviews on dievas but not specifically on the one you are looking for.

Really like the Dievas Shadow he reviewed.

Thx for the complements on the review.

I actually have the Dievas Focal as well as well as the Vortex, Vortex Pro, Vortex Pro Tactical, the Shadow, kampfschiwimer, 3646 and the vintage cali. but have yet to review the focal.

I will endeavour to do a review on the focal as well soon.

Hi I have quite a few Dievas watches. and the focal is one of them. it's a local brand actually, but made in germany. the ETA 2824 movement it utilises is reliable and has been in use for many decades now. It's tried and tested. By all parts made of the "hardened steel" i reckon you are referring to the case? if so, yes, they use their patented 6steel technology on the focal, shadow, vortex, vortex pro, vrtex pro tactical. if you intend to get a diving watch, Id suggest checking out the Maya as well. it's their latest diving watch released about 1 week plus ago. I did not get this piece as it does not resonate well with me personally. a little too casual looking for my liking. but otherwise I wouldn/t maind getting it too.

the focal is a watch you cant go wrong with.

suggest you head over to Gnomon at beach road to try the watches first beofre taking the plunge. I'll see if I have enough time to do a review of the Focal soon.

Re: Advise Needed: Timepiece Dievas Focal

Thx for the compliments. Will try to review the focal soon. I believe I've done the shadow, vortex and vortex pro from that range. Their cases are similar. But one ing to take note. The rubber straps are lint magnets. Also, not sure about your wrist size cos if you opt for the rubber straps, it will look big cos of the excess gap under the lugs.between the lugs and the wrist. This is cos the straps are a bit stiff around the lugs area as they are contoured to the case.

noted man! will check out the actual watch before jumping in. just wondering if you are aware if the luminosity is good/average/bad as compared to other non-tritium watches? Thanks.

The lune is not too bad. I will try to post a pic later. If you check out my review on the vortex, it should be pretty close. Or check out their website. It has a lume pic.
