Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

dear experts,

need some urgent guidance ...
recently bought an e93 325i.

have changed to breyton race cs 19 inch non-staggered with PS2 235/35.

however, the front wheels appear hanging with a gap.
in addition, the back wheels appear a bit inward compared to the front.

as such, contemplating lowering with spring for the first problem and spacer for the second problem.

would like to seek comments on the impact of the ride quality, if to proceed with the spring and spacer.
also, is e93 stock already too low to be lowered ... afraid of hitting kerb at car park/shopping mall?
does spacer help since the rims are non-staggered with PS2 235/35?

many thanks.

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

1st confirm with shop the offset of your wheels. go for spacers brand like eibach which are hub centric...although i prefer not to but if must then try not to go beyond 15mm. Do a search here as lots past discussion been made - both spacers and E9x max aggressive offsets.

Good set of springs+shocks or better - coilovers - will not cause your car to bottom up...ride quality is subjective and depend on individual preference.

Offset wrong..........

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

How did u end up buying rims that not quite suitable for your car?
All E9* typically run on staggered, that is mistake no.1 u made.

bro. did the shop advise u to get non staggered? for u ride u shld be going for 235/35 and 265/30 19". rear can possibly go up to 275.

breytons r made specifically for 3 series. how new ur rims? i would suggest u go back and swap for a wider set atthe rear rather than use spacers.

if u do lower ur ride there is always chance of hitting curbs. just gotta be more vigilent and reverse in rather than head in when there is a kerb

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

looks like the shop sold you the breytons meant for e46... as slater mentioned, go back there to change....

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

dear all,

actually, i bought it from a shop ... very reputable and popular in this forum.
this is what the shop recommends to me ...

i suspected but didnt probe further.
maybe the shop does not have non staggered at that moment and in the midst of closing the deal ... off he sent me packing with a wrong package to someone who has limited knowledge.

can i ask a stupid question now ?
do i need to change the rear rims and tires?
to get 265/30, does it mean that i get new tires or change my current rims?

regards.

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

Or you can use Eibach spacers (15mm) and H&R sport lowering springs like I did.

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

dear all,

just called shop ... he said now he has stock for non-staggered and asked me to go for trade-in with top up!
didnt mention top up amount though ...
what a waste of $.

feel very played out ...

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

May I know which shop sold you the wheels? PM me if you feel there is a need to protect their ID.

Breyton+trade-in+top-up, formula sounds so familiar..if its similar person, he tried to snooked me then & I challenged him to do a dry-fit before buying from him, he back-off after. Back to your case, imho, spend alil more & get the right set-up as opposed to spacers. Now boils down to how u nego with him to minimise the top-up.

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

went down to shop yesterday evening.
shop's proposal is for full set trade-in (rims/tires travelled less than 400 km ... 1 week only) and then give me a new but identical rims 235 front and 265 back with new PS2 tires with $ top up.
must admit ... felt totally stupid on the spot.

if were to top up so much $, may as well change the rim design!
this is what i did ...
drove away with new breyton 19 inch and PS2 tires after paying another $1.8k.
total damage is $6.4k (original $4.6k + top up $1.8k).

very negative experience ...
but learnt a good lesson of not to be too trusty.

any comments on the top-up amount?
fair or shop out to con me again?
no feel at all on the second deal of top-up.

regards.

wow bro! thats ex. even the initial price he quoted u for non staggered is already overprices IMO. i had the same tyres and rims as u previously.

if its that ex shld have stuck to spacers.

which tyre shop is this?

u mean the initial 4.6k u paid or n totality after swapping to staggered?

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

IMC, from your original buy to top-up is outta whack.

Looking at brighter side of things, you're spared from the awkward looks from before & minus those spacers.

Good that things are sorted out now.

bro pls check ur PM. have sent you what i think shld be the price u paid.

Re: Advice on Spacer & Springs (E93)

unfortunately the only thing you can do now is vent because i doubt the shop will give a refund... just consider it as a learning experience, i am sure most of the people posting in this thread have had similar expensive expereinces...
