Advice on PM for E36 325 and E?? 528i M-sport

Hi,

Previously drove a 01yr E46 318 in Singapore before moving to KL.. Now owned a 1995 E36 325 and a 2002 528i M-sport Double Vanos which I intend to drive back to Singapore once LTA approves them (for Singaporean driving Malaysia reg. car with valid Malaysia work permit - just to be clarify things). I intent to drive either cars back to Singapore in future.

Like to seek advise from bros on basic PM on these 2 cars (so they can last the long journey to Singapore) so I can drive back for a more thorough maintenance and upgrades...

1. What will be the recommended engine oil/class for the both cars?
2. The spark plugs recommended?
3. Worthwhile doing engine flush on these 2 cars?
4. Recommended brake pads for both cars? I have someone quoting me 500RM for a pair of brake pads for my 325i claiming it is BMW endorsed - anyway to tell?

Anythings else I am required to consider for PM job?

Then in Singapore, any place to recommend on performance enhancement i.e. struct bar, rotor change, body kits, chips etc will be grateful. Also I notice my 325i indicating "check brake circuit" where to reactify that in Singapore?

Cheers

You'll be given something like 20 or 28 days a year from LTA to drive back in SG with your M'sian registered car, knew about this from my uncle who is also working and living in KL as he drives back to sg with his m'sian reg. car.

1. What will be the recommended engine oil/class for the both cars? See your service interval indicator lah friend......Normally up to 10,000km on semi synth/fully synth oil for e36 325i, ur 2002 528i i think the service interval is up tp 25k km, but would u want ur oil to stay inside that long(up to almost a year)?unless ur covering high mileage within short time. None the less rite up to 10k km should be more than safe.
2. The spark plugs recommended?Check your owners manual, or check out here RealOEM.COM   Online BMW Parts Catalog
3. Worthwhile doing engine flush on these 2 cars? To be on the safe side don't cause it might cause more leaking on old oil seals if you have no idea if it has been replaced or not.
4. Recommended brake pads for both cars? I have someone quoting me 500RM for a pair of brake pads for my 325i claiming it is BMW endorsed - anyway to tell? If u happen to be back in Singpore, go to Eng Soon and get them, its much much cheaper, the pads can be made from PAGID, JURID, TEXTAR etc and all these are OEM replacements and don't forget the brake pad sensors too hehehe

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback - none of the cars have manual. :furious:
