Hi, I'm new to this forum and BMWs in general, but I'm considering buying a used E46 325i (my fave 3-series generation) when I head to the US this September. However the reviews on various used car resource websites have been pretty poor with regard to reliability and maintenance costs.
So I just wanted to ask E46 drivers about their personal experiences, ie. what parts of your cars seem to fail before they reasonably, "how old is too old" when you're looking for a car to buy, etc. If you have alternative suggestions for a BMW I should buy (E36? E39 5-series?) also let me know.
