Hi, after driving my new f30 and feel very disappointed with the base speaker system hence thinking of upgrade the audio system now.
Any experienced talent can give your expertised advise?
Currently considering Bovsound, focal and Harman kardon. Which system is worth for money and most important will not void the warranty.
Thanks

Or Soundwerkz

Or R2D for Jehnert speakers

Or JDM Autocare for other options

Re: Advice needed for upgrade good audio system recommendation without void warrantyb

Re: Advice needed for upgrade good audio system recommendation without void warrantyb

of cos it will void warranty.....

of ur audio system

Re: Advice needed for upgrade good audio system recommendation without void warrantyb

Go back PML or MA and ask them to upgrade in order to keep your warranty intact

Re: Advice needed for upgrade good audio system recommendation without void warrantyb

How do they know if I go else best or pml or ma for the upgrading? If I go for original bmw system?

The Central Gateway stores all the options that came with your car. Once Autologic diagnostic unit is plugged in...viola!...all is crystal clear what you did

So if ur car came with stock BMW audio and u go upgrade to Harman Kardon and then something goes wrong, you cannot expect PML to warrant tat right?

No need autologic. With VIN no, it can be found in INTERNET.

bottomline is....u afraid of voiding ur warranty (dunno for wat also), then go back AD to upgrade.

If you dun care abt AD's warranty (for audio), then the world's ur oyster

I think the concern over warranty is in case of head unit faulty then still can claim warranty from AD. If not then have to spend money on replacement or upgrade to CIC or NBT.
After did some research, I think as long as the mod is not tap on MOST and bus then no coding is needed and if you can restore back to stock system then everything should be fine.

Just to check is BMW hifi ampt no coding needed but top hifi ampt need coding to tap on MOST?

Look, if you are upgrading speakers or add an amp or color them orange, PML won't give a flying f**k if they go bust. If you did nothing to the HU, then the HU is warranted. Ai mod don't be scared, scared don't mod lor. Now, please don't ask change rims void warranty or not.

Re: Advice needed for upgrade good audio system recommendation without void warrantyb

Thanks bro, checked with PML, change rim will void your warranty also if the damage is related to your wheel & absorber system. The reason given is they don't know what has been tempted by outside workshop.

Now I understand, what ever damage can directly or indirectly related to your mod then warranty void.

After getting feedback and did some research online, finally decided to diy the audio system in different stage.
I think the Harman kardon speaker is not a bad option as it comes with 50w for midrange @2ohm and tweeter @4ohm speaker running in parralell. This is much better than basic stereo speaker only 25W @ 4 ohm midrange speaker

I have just install the speaker and took me about 1.5 hrs for the job done but before that I did learn from other expert through YouTube. Search for Bavsound bmw stage 1 speaker installation.
