Additional lighter socket for E90

Can we add another lighter socket at the front console as shown in the following site? Part no. 10, 11,12,13. I would like to mount my O2 Atom with GPS at my windscreen but the power socket at the armrest is beyond reach. Don't you guys have this problem?

Anybody here done this before?

I am sure it can be done. U just need the part listed. I understand that there is a option to have another one in the boot as well.

hmm. i tap my IU powersupply instead of the lighter socket so that even without the car started, u got power also. and if u insist, u can then connect it up with a sim lim tower lighter socket or the realoem ones. wiring will travel quite a distance if its on the armrest though.
