Hi guys
Was driving along keppel road earlier and turning left towards the ERP gantry before ECP. At the green light, i was on the outer turning lane and as I was turning into the middle lane, a bike slammed into my passenger door.
i quickly got down to help him as his bike had fallen on his leg. After lifting his bike, he was able to walk and said the injury was minor. However, he admitted that while he was on the left lane and should have turned into the inner most lane, he made a wide turn and thats why he slammed into me.
I got him to calm down and we proceeded to assess the damage. my car's left door was dented, the sideview mirror was ripped off and the door handle damage + misc scratches to the body. his bike had damage to the chasis and right handle bar.
we both wrote down and signed off on a statement describing the above event. he also signed off that he did indeed make a wide turn and hit my car. we both also signed off that neither of us was injured in any way and we listed the damage and signed off on that as well. can this be used as evidence when claiming as i am worried he may change his story later on.
the question is, i called my insurer, aviva, and they said i should go down to idac. i will also make a police report tmr. i need some advice as to how to proceed as well as to claim against him. i checked his insurance and everything was in order except that the insurance will expire in a week's time.
