Oh M60B40...

There is a better choice. M62B44. 4.4L V8.....

The only problem is that you need a custom sump to fit it into E36/E46s. Also the engine has to be push forward to clear the brake master pump.

They are great engines for torque. Unfortunately, HP is on the low side for such a high CC engine.

I'm cracking my head for a V8 M5 into e46 lah, already have the kit up north. Been busy asking which cross-member should be use for e39 or e46 ???

I'm cracking my head for a V8 M5 into e46 lah, already have the kit up north. Been busy asking which cross-member should be use for e39 or e46 ???

M5 is using V10 though, not V8. But from what I have gathered, it might actually be easier to drop in a V12 instead of V8. Cause v12 is 60 degrees and thus not as wide compared to V8 (90 degrees).

Btw, there is a thread in bimmer forums about someone dropping in a M62 into E36.

Actually I have a complete kit for e39 M5 , from engine to under carriage, not e60 V10 .
