...Do you guys think the price is resonable? Any one knows the history of this car?
BMW 530IA Details - sgCarMart

Had a look at the car one or two weeks back.

The reason why it relatively cheaper than most other 530s its age is that the car has clocked 119k km. The exterior is in good condition, interior is in reasonable condition, with the expected scuffing on the right lumbar section on driver's seat.

Re: 530 can buy?

my advice would be to give it a miss, if the mileage is too high, usually there will be greater wear and tear, apr 04 means abt 3.5 yrs, reasonable mileage shd b abt 70k. unless u find the car abt 15-20k below mkt price and u have the time to address the wear and tear problems,

In your opinion for a 530 at that age how much is resonable?
There is another one almost same age but almost 20k price diff

Re: 530 can buy?

normal mileage max is abt 20k km per year....remember to check out if it has other prob. any add-ons accessories, maybe bmw stuff, better rims, bodykit or whatever..
dun worry, there are alot of 5 series out there for resale.....so its a case of u choosing them, and not u needing to make a tough choice.....so if price or whatever not ok, u have the advantage of just walking out

This car is pretty much stock - no kits, standard wheels, no satnav... The only thing it has are the comfort seats.

I walked away after seeing the mileage. And the previous owner prob only serviced the car when the trip computer told him to. Saw the service records that it was serviced at 20k-25k intervals. Most nit-picky owners would do it every 10k-15k, without waiting for the service lights to illuminate. But at least all servicing done at PML.

why do you guys think 119k is hi mileage?

For a Singapore car, 119k is quite a bit higher than the average mileage for a 3.5 y/o car. It would probably be average mileage for say, a UK or European car.

buy mine la.....

You haven't sold it ah? What's the mileage now and what's the price now? :p

Re: 530 can buy?

mileage is 75k....hvnt sold...diin really try anyway. can sell sell..but only to the ppl who appreciate the car. i dun wanna strip out the stuff....heart pain/waste time too. i know if i advertise it..i know all thr horsins will come..ie car dealers etc. thats why i hvnt really tried to sell it. on the upside...the car is being rotated with the other car now...mileage creeping up a lot slower.

i still use it for stress free driving...consumption is low n cheap to maintain i guess.....also a bit heart pain to sell.....if u r keen then pm me. can look anytime of cos...

Re: 530 can buy?

If I'm not wrong this April '04 reg should be 65% Parf value, depreciation is about 12k (exclude body scrap) per yr. is good value. What is 119KKm to a 3 litre engine man? And is a better built gearbox than any 520 or 525 out there. So what if you have to change gearbox at 130 to 150kkm still value for money... calculated risk if you ask me.

You got me there - I have no idea on that one.... The first question I asked the guy was what the mileage was - and after hearing 119k I wasn't much interested anymore... :p
