This junction is a potential accident junction. This is the second time I did not realize that the red light was for a line that's way BEFORE the traffic light junction. At the same time I also realize that the new E90s have auto hazard light when ABS is activated.
Anyway, look at the photo... let me explain...
Look at the YELLOW arrow. That is the line where I always THOUGHT I have to stop because it is nearer to the traffic light indicated by the RED arrow. But no, that is just a pedestrian crossing!
There's also two other lights at the side indicated by the BLUE arrows. The one on the left is potentially blocked by a bus in the bus bay. The one on the right is hidden under the MRT behind the fences.
Then notice the GREEN arrow. That is the line where you ACTUALLY need to stop. Notice how it cuts the bus bay?
The RED arrow points at the overhead traffic light... this is the light that most drivers will notice first. It is TOO FAR from the stop line!
Now if you miss this stop line, you will likely get into a big accident by a car entering from the filter lane on the right... which is quite hidden away because of the entry angle.
Seriously, I think I need to write to LTA regarding this.
