2nd set of rim+tyres

May I ask a few Ah Beng questions for those of you who have a spare set other than the ones on yr car most of the time:

1. Is spare set used for tracking only.

2. Do u also use them say when u go up north as u dont want yr expensive show rims to get damaged.

3. Is it usually one size smaller, eg norm 19 but spare set 18 inch

4. Always a lighter rim? size aside

5. Do u use cheapo taiwan rims since its just a spare set

6. If u replace them, where do u keep the original set that was on yr car. put them with tyre shop n then come back after few days n replace?

yes. spare rims are usually lighter and shod in semi-slicks.

most people do not bother, cos changing wheels cost money.

again depends on the usage. race rims are usually lighter - so 'cheapo taiwan rims' do not apply.

yups. try to find workshop that you have good relationship with. doesn't have to be tyre shop.
