Dear friends,
I bought a 4 Yr old 318i recently and this is my 1st time owning BMW... What I experienced is that the car is too bouncy, in comfort and sports mode, shakes left right too much.

All the small bumps on the road can be felt; this is at low speed.

I have driven Jap brands, other conti brands and none of the models I drove, felt that way..
Never owned a BMW before and not sure is this normal for BMW.

Can advise?

Bouncy has nothing to do with comfort or sports mode as you're is the 318 model and not likely to have active suspension.
1st thing you can do is check tyre pressure chances is its over inflated. Correct tyre pressure is on the door sil drivers side or check with a reputable tyre shop.
2nd struts modified ? Check the colour and condition see if its wet or have a workshop check it if unsure.
3rd how old are the tyres ? Google how to check year of manufacture and type i.e run flat tyres are going to be harder and you'll feel more of the road as it has to support the car if theres a leak.
4th if everything is A ok then its 'JUST NORMAL" BMWs are suppose to have a driver oriented ride and you're suppose to feel the road.
