2006 E90 320I won't start

Hey guys wondering if anyone experienced the same thing before...

Car makes clicking noise, doesn't crank at all. Previously before this got a couple of times it did not start the first time, but press second time will start. But since yesterday night, cannot start at all.

Called BMW mobile service, checked my battery to be at a stable 12.40V so batt is fine. Alternator was changed about 2 months ago too.

What could it be har? Now dunno tow to where but I know I don't wanna tow it to PML.

ah thanks.. perhaps it is the starter... sounds expensive.. locally done around 500?

There is a thread on here about there being a factory recall for the battery cable sometimes causing the car to not start even though the battery is ok. You might be lucky...

update... it was the starter that went kaput.

fixed at sponsor workshop boss motorsports for $420 excl GST... Other workshops quoted slightly higher, and this one was in sin ming, and I stay in Sin Ming so go figure. Thanks for the advice here!
