2004 E60 530i

Hi all,

Need to ask you guys out there, the engine in the 2004 E60 530 is it the same one used as in the current one.?

Cos considering in getting a 2nd hand E60 530

Pls Advise

I doubt it.... I think the one you're getting could still be the M54 series...

unlike the Z4 Si, which has an si after it to hint the new engine upgrades, i am inclined to belive that its still using the old 231hp M54 engine non-valvaetronic.The newer ones should be ready and i am sure there should be some denomination to identify it like the Z4.

its different engine.. 2004 and below all are using the M54 Engine. All cars afer 2004, they're using the new Valvetronic N52 Engine...
Depends on what is your needs, the M54 got more mod potential at the moment...

The N52, you gotta wait at least another year or so, before any serious mods will come out... but the fuel consumption for the new engine is supposed to be better than the M54.
