20" wheels for E93 anyone?

Hi guys,

fairly illiterate when it comes to mods and cars.

Any of the bros out there that uses 20" rims for your E93? some people told me it may cause the car to 'be a little sluggish'.... should i stick to 19"?

Also what is the effects of the different tyre widths of 235 and 245? Can someone help me understand why 19" rims require staggered widths while 20" would not require that?

Appreciate all advice!

Cheers!

Any idea who told you 20" would not require staggered tyres?

You can use 20" on your E93, but I am certain many tyre brands will rub (on the inner well) like crazy. Even if you are using 275 width. It is not about "sluggish" but the practicality of 20" on E92/3, whose wheel wells are shallow.

Bear in mind, even 19"s, some tyre brands/sizes will still rub on the inner well..... fender rolling does not help.

cool thanks for your reply bro... i may have heard wrongly, but the shop told me all 4 wheels can use the same tyres... better not quote names? ;)

what brand tyres are you using? i presume that's your car in the picture... nice rims... are they breyton GTS? 19" too?

thinking of using continental contact 5 tyres. any thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: 20" wheels for E93 anyone?

Perhaps ask the tyre shop why are the stock tyres staggered?

Yep, that's my ride, shodding on DPE MT7 19"s staggered. Am running Bridgestone RE11, replaced Michelin PS2 and even earlier CSC3.

IMO, for street tyres, nothing beats RE11 on grip (wet/dry) and sidewall stiffness. PS2 was too soft.

cool. nice ride... :)

so i safely assume the current set up doesn't have the problem of rubbing the inner well?

thanks for the tips!
