2-Din Bezel

I tried many car audio shops but just could not find a 2-Din bezel. Anybody can help?
E46 4-door sedan.

Be aware that to fit 2-DIN HU into your E46 console, you will need to mod some heater piping and floor vent for the blower.

There _are_ sone 2-DIN bezels, you can also see what mobycar (Ferd) did. Think his website is at www.mobycar.com.

You mean the slot at the lower din (existing AC control) is very shallow? Can't it slot in a single-din HU? Then I shift the existing AC control to the slot infront of the gear stick.

Haven't see it personally before, only in pictures.

Its not that easy just to 'shift panels' down. The AC control panel's rounded corners do not fit into the lower console - different shape. Unless installer painstakingly fabricate a new panel, but that's only after assessing:

1. Spaces behind will allow the unit to fit in
2. Cables, attachments etc will be long enough to be pulled all the way to lower console.
3. Any other 'fixed' attachments that are connected to the original unit.

thought you have the nav retrofit kit where the ash tray and sun glass compartment is? how are you going to shift your aircon down?

to move the aircon down, you'll need to order a BMW part to replace the entire housing where the ash tray and sunglass compartment is.... not to forget wait 3 weeks for it...

Hi Ferd,

I have the GPS Dayton but is not happy that I cannot feed in video signal. I am therefore forgoing the Dayton (yes, remove it) and find a way to have a video screen. One option is to use a Alpine 310. This way, I will still have a good qualtiy FM radio. If budget permits (see year-end bonus loh), I can include an Apline GPS Nav or a Siemen GPS. BMW uses Siemen as OEM. The current BMW Dayton GPS is very good. I heard that no other portable (usually bluetooth) GPS can match it. I might even add in an Apple Mini for purposes of MP3 and phone bluetooth. I can use the Alpine screen, via a Giffin DVI to RCA video composite output.

PML can provide the frame to lower the AC control panel. What I need is a bezel for the 2-Din. Can your bezel fit a normal HU? Can you consider selling me one of your masterpiece bezel? Pls PM me a price.

Hi Iceman,

Thanks for your feedback. As long as I do not need to alter vents, it can be done. I am even thinking of going to Kranji to buy a savaged AC-control panel and retrofit it into a HU bezel. The top bezel is easily available.
