Hi Guys,

Need some help on the above. My current ride a 3.18 valvetronic just wondering if I would be able to accommodate the ACS type IV 19" Rims. Also would this cause any negative impacts? How bad would the FC be on the 19"? I'm currently on the 17" rims from the last batch of 3.18 sports.

Thanks Guys

Hi Mercuryz,

U'd be able to fit the rims in .. just make sure the offset is right. You'll see an increase in FC for sure, but it wun be something that would be very bad, hmm... if u're not too bothered bout losing abit of performance for a better look then u're fine. Hope this helps.

Shaaz.

From my own previous experience, the FC increase is not considerable. Performance wise, a little sluggishness is observed, unless you drive fast, it may turn out to be a worthwhile trade off for some credits to the looks department. Bigger tires make steering more sensitive also.

The One thing that sticks out with the 19" on my previous E46 was, all 4 shocks started falling apart after 2 years. Lots of wear and tear on the forearm ball joints, even the engine mounting had to be replaced according to my mechanic. It might have been driving patterns too but I'm pretty sure those rims had much to account for.

Finally, be prepared to spend more on the rubber that wraps around those head turning rims.

Yes, the jump in the prices of the rubbers can be quite significant, even from 18" to 19". They can be more than S$100 more a piece!

Cheers & Merry Xmas!

Thanks for the insight guys. And thanks Ivo for the in depth info, looks like I have to consider more factors if I'm going ahead.

Merry Xmas to All!
Drive safe this Festive season!
