Hi pals,

I have read through many interesting posting here about rims and tyres.

I am driving a 2004 E46 318i non-sport edition and thinkin gof upsizing my wheel to 18"

I juz like to find out the experience of anyone who up-sized their wheels from 16" to 18" on your 318s 2004 E46.

I wonder if there will be obvious feel of lack of power after the change, considering its a 318i. Any problem like 18" is too big to fit or shock absorber/spring needed to lower etc.

Will appreciate if someone could also share their experience about the quality of replica like AC type 4 or BBS that currently selling in SGP market. Guess the price of replicas is too attractive to ignore.

thanks for your help !

Hi .... I dun know abt the replica rims but recently i changed my stock rims 16" to 18" Hamman PG2 and michellin pilot sports tyres. No lack of power and fuel consumpions remains unchanged 9.5km/l of course i m a light stepper. I guess the biggest joy is the superb cornering the car can take now.
any friends out there know whether I need to check wheel alignment especially on the tow in or out? thks and hope this helps.

I am selling my 18" BBS rims. One of the lightest rims around so you don't feel any lack of power due to increase weight. You get unlimited pump of nitrogen from Stamford Tyres too.

PM me if interested.

Well , your driving habits and highway/urban is key to consumptions. Mine is almost 50/50 urban/highway. Cheers ..... now m looking at other stuff to increase the power or perhaps better the fuel efficiency . cheers
