10,000km service by PI

I am due to do my 10,000 km service with my PI (this is required to maintain their warranty).

When i called them today they mentioned this would cost $600+ since they needed to change the plugs, lubricants, etc.

Is this right?

I've already been to them twice for services at 2,000km and 5,000km where they changed oil and cost me a couple hundred bucks each time. Seems a bit of overkill. What is the normal work done at the PML services?

Did my 10000km but brought my own oil for change though. Cost me about $200.

$600 sounds abit excessive bro.

Kuvesh,

At 10,000KM there is no need to change plugs. For most juiced N54ers, changing plugs at 20,000Km is enough. I think all you need is an oil change and perform a diagnostic check to see if there are any faults. If 0 faulty, then you dont need to spend anything more. The oil change wont cost more than 300 bucks at BVO or J4C.

Hope this helps.

Which PI is that?

10,000km should be less than $200
just change oil and filters.

first time PML servicing doesn't look too bad!

agreed w the rest, don't think the plugs need to be changed. they might do air filter/ aircon microfilter changes for u? PML charged me $300 total for oil svc @ 2000KM (oil plus oil filter). csa specified no microfilter change, i asked for a air filter chk cos i'm kiasu, csa said they will check condition before deciding on replacing.

Only thing i was annoyed at was the charge for windshield wiper fluid. i could have topped up the tank with evian water mix at that price... nxt time, will request no topup.

Which PI and workshop is this?

Re: 10,000km service by PI

the PI is cybercars and they have their own workshop.

i've got to say i have no problems with their service so far but what they are suggesting for the 10k service seems a bit off market. I'll check with them again on monday to see if there was a missunderstanding.

Kuvesh

Just did no svc at PML yesterday, paid a little less than $300 for oil and filter only.
Learnt a from fellow forumers about the washer fluid thing and asked them not to top up.

FYI, PML says no need to change plug even when i asked them its already clocked 60K km.

Omar,

What model is N54 engine? Is it the blown 3L ?
How come its recommended to change plug at 20k km
Could it be that the plug in my detuned N52B25 last longer?

Regards
Jason
