Fast lane service with PML cost with bring own engine oil

about 5 years ago, PML already changed policy and dont allow customers to bring their own engine oil. If they allowed you to this time, then lucky for you. that said, you are driving a car with DI. Consider switching to an LL04 oil for lower SAPS to avoid deposits. LL01 is not needed for us...

    Electric Cars in Singapore

Thanks for sharing, I had been eyeing the i3 for some time. I've tested it and it is an amazing car. I also used to have a Z4, and the i3 handling is still impressive. But after speaking with various PML staff, I decided against it. Mainly as I wasn't sure how the after sales experience would...

Servicing at the Performance Motors Limited (PML)

I would not use LL-01 for direct injection engine BMWs. LL-04 with lower SAPS would be my choice. the short oil intervals (<12k) and the low sulphur fuel in Singapore is suitable for LL-04.

    Renew COE now?

generally, I’ve been told by mechanics that mercs are cheaper and more reliable to maintain as older cars. But then, some others will say no, you can get BMW OEM parts cheap, send to JB workshop to install... frankly, it’s really dependent how far you wanna go to reduce costs and the sort of...

    Renew COE now?

I won't comment too much on the COE direction, cos that's really just a gamble. Personally, i think COE prices will be pretty stable for the next few months. Between ERP 2.0 and refilling the surplus, there isn't much benefit to allow COE to crash/spike. That said, I had a 10 year old NA BMW...

Rear ended by a Picanto - surprised by insurance company's service

Re: Rear ended by a Picanto - surprised by insurance company's service Is Sime insurance broker unpopular? I've been using them for all the family BMWs. When renewal time comes by, they automatically send quote for insurers which includes AD workshops. and price is lower than what i get from...

    Blunder by Car Company

Re: Blunder by Car Company I always thought most in the forum saw this dealer as superior in service standards to PML. Maybe we need a new thread to discuss our experience with them. After dealing with them a few times, I really started to (horror of horrors) appreciate PML.

    Blunder by Car Company

Re: Blunder by Car Company But, when you test drive, they only make a copy of your ic, right? I always thought the dealer needs your ic itself for the registration? Or is that only when you also trade a car in? I always recall my dad's sales rep taking his ic for a day to settle the paperwork...

    Blunder by Car Company

Re: Blunder by Car Company Sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation. My experience with this company is when something goes wrong - you can't find anyone to turn to. Really ridiculous. Maybe you should reconsider your purchase. otherwise your included servicing means you are stuck with...

    Stone chip!!!!!

Re: Stone chip!!!!! Such a typical LTA response. Once, their contractor redid a speed hump near my place. The slope of the hump was so steep even at 20kph you get a horrible thump as the wheels first approach the hump. Told LTA, they said "The contractor says as the hump wears down, it will...

    PML service

Re: PML service if your car is an E60 520 registered in 2005, I'll guess you're running the M54 2.2L inline 6. NOT the 4 cylinder valvetronic (that some others mentioned in the thread). Of course, only you can verify this. LL98 can be used for the M54. It is not a valvetronic engine. Depends...

    PML service

Re: PML service I have never received leftover engine oil from PML servicing EXCEPT when I brought 7L of my own engine oil of choice. back in the 90s, they sometimes sell you an "engine oil" top up kit. a full litre of oil (new bottle) with a paper funnel. But not anymore. I have never been...

    Credit card fraud..

Re: Credit card fraud.. Happened to me 2-3weeks after a stay at a 5 star hotel in bangkok. Amex texted me to say there were suspicious charges. Called them back and they immediately blocked the card. Next time I'm blocking up the security digits on the card before i hand the card over.

    E85 roof failed!

Re: E85 roof failed! just to add on to RBB's tip, you have to retract the soft top then place the hard top attachment to the car. I contemplated getting one till i realized the soft top would be folded up for prolonged periods and end up very creased. Prefacelift (PFL) E85s roof motors have...

F30 Owner: Does your steering produces such sound?

Re: F30 Owner: Does your steering produces such sound? My bad, I didn't see the edge with syntec on the page. Castrol changed the original GC packaging , eh? May try this out next time. Give us a review after 5k? Thanks!

F30 Owner: Does your steering produces such sound?

Re: F30 Owner: Does your steering produces such sound? i didn't realize they started carrying castrol! BTW, am i right to say this is the BMW LL-04 spec'd oil? If so, I would be a little wary of using it with singapore gasoline. Sulphur control levels are far less restrictive here than the US...
