Re: Steering sound I had this sound which you mention, it only occurs when I turn my steering to the left. Encounter it almost daily and this "phenomenon" has been happening for a long time which I am still unable to find the root cause. Other than the disturbing noise, ride is fine though.

Re: E60 misfiring Encounter similar problem as yours, 1 out of 6 ignition coil was faulty is enough to cause the shaking/vibration in my case.
