BMW of North America and MINI USA will be having some personnel changes in their marketing departments. Tom Salkowsky, 40, the current manager of corporate communications for BMW, will take the role of MINI marketing manager starting December 1, 2011. He will be replacing Trudy Hardy, 41, who in turn will be BMW marketing communications manager. Hardy replaces Patrick McKenna, 41, who will move to a new position in MINI as head of product strategy and motor experiences department.
Salkowsky has 14 years experience at BMW of North America in various positions throughout the organization. He first joined BMW as Retail Operations Manager. After 3 years, he became the M Brand & Motorsports Manager. For the past two years, Salkowski held the managing post of BMW Corporate Communications department.
Trudy Hardy on the other hand has almost 10 years of experience working with BMW. She will be responsible for BMW’s national, event and direct marketing as well as Internet, consumer communications and conquest and loyalty activities. Hardy first joined BMW in 2001 as communications manager for the MINI brand. In 2003, she was appointed BMW’s aftersales marketing communications manager. In 2005, she returned to MINI as marketing manager.
McKenna has been with BMW since 1997 as media communications manager. In 2000, he became consumer communications manager. In 2004 he was promoted to manage marketing communications and in 2007, he also started to handle consumer events. In his new post, Mckenna will be responsible for MINI’s product strategy and motor experiences department.
