The BMW Group has just launched a new Facebook application and a contest around car design. Based on a BMW research, many young customers would like to personalize their cars. One way of personalizing your car is through foils.
Before rolling out a global customization plan, BMW wanted to test the consumer feedback by launching a pilot project called “BMW EDIZIONE†in Italy. A facebook app allows fans of the BMW Italy brand page (facebook.com/BMW.Italia) to vote for a variety of foil designs created by young BMW designers (apps.facebook.com/bmwedizione).
The winning design will be produced as a limited “BMW EDIZIONE†for BMW Used Cars in Italy, including the foil and further components especially for young target groups. This is expected to become a hit to young consumers in Italy. Especially because they have a “Youth Formula†that operates with the philosophy of the younger the customer is – the less he needs to pay (20yrs=2.0% financing, 21yrs=2,1%financing).
