BMW is scheduled to unveil the all-new G30 5 Series on October 12th. This has been copnfirmed through an official teaser video highlighting the Remote 3D View of the 5 Series.
Speculations say that after this initial reveal date, there will be a series of VIP presentations and then the car will head down to the Detroit Auto Show for its the public world debut.
The new G30 5 Series will go on sale in Spring 2017 but it will not be global. BMW will do the sales one region at a time.
The teased feature, the Remote 3D View, gives the driver a virtual view of their own car and their current surroundings from a distance. This is connected to the driver’s smartphone via the BMW Connected App. Thanks to this feature, the driver can always check what is happening around their BMW 5 Series. There is a similar function in the current 7 series but it cannot be retrieved remotely.
It is a shame that the exciting details are hidden under a blurred pixel mass, but we’ll see it soon!
