The xDrive45e is a few tenths quicker than what BMW claims. It is a two-and-a-half ton hybrid SUV and also a bit faster than a Volkswagen GTI.
The BMW X5 xDrive45e can achieve a decent all-electric range while being muscle-car fast which is pretty impressive. BMW claims that it can reach up to 51 miles if you pop the xDrive45e to its electric mode. It does not reach that in the real world but Achilles was able to achieve about 42 miles. It sure is decent enough for a BMW hybrid. Although the X5 xDrive45e is remarkable, there is nothing radical but it is good enough to do some around town shopping. It can use the engine for moreover trips without burning a drop of gasoline.
There are no significant complaints about the X5 xDrive45e. It handles well for a big SUV that features excellent tech with a great ride. If you are into hybrids on the road, then the xDrive45e is for you. The BMW X5 xDrive45e is absolutely the best the brand has to offer when it comes to hybrids.
