The time has arrived for an aftermarket kit tailored to the BMW M8 Competition, following Manhart’s work on multiple BMWs. It follows the release of upgrade packages in the recent weeks for the X6 M competition, M9 Convertible and new M240i. The MH800 is touted as a special edition limited to only ten cars based on the spicy competition flavour.
The high-performance coupe used Manhart’s own matte blue instead of BMW’s Individual Frozen Blue paint job. The body-coloured custom alloy wheels measuring 21 inches in diameter at the front and rear axles add to the car’s striking looks. A blacked-out kidney grille and black decal enhanced the M8’s looks.
Its KW suspension set-up brings the BMW M8 Competition closer to the ground for a bit more road presence. In addition, it also makes those wheels look like they barely fit into the arches. The fibre exterior kit includes everything from hood vents to a rear diffuser. And it seems even more stunning with the BMW M8 Competition’s carbon fibre dipped engine bay.
To produce 823 horsepower and a mountain-moving 1,070 Newton-meters (789 pound-feet) of torque, it has to tweak its 4.4-litre V8. The standard Competition required more than just a software tweak to increase production significantly. Aside from modifying the S63’s intercooler, Manhart also worked on the pair of turbochargers.
The German tuner added a new carbon air intake and a stainless-steel exhaust with quad 100-mm carbon fibre tips to the BMW M8 Competition Coupe. To allow the V8 to sound more aggressive and breathe better, Manhart will gladly install race downpipes and remove the particulate gasoline filter where legal.
Steering wheel work by covering the rim in Alcantara is one of the last orders of the business. As well as carbon fibre trim and applying black accents to the BMW M8 Competition’s spokes.
