[VIDEO] 2024 BMW M2’s M Performance Upgrades Unveiled

At a lesser-known European car show, BMW unveiled its heavily modified M2 G87, decked out with M Performance Parts. Unveiled at the 2023 Auto Zurich in Switzerland, this Toronto Red sports coupe demonstrated the potential for extensive customization. The car’s distinct appearance comes from its centre-mounted quad exhaust tips and the abundant use of carbon fibre.

The M2 features lightweight material for its mirror caps, side spats, and roof, complemented by an eight-speed automatic transmission. Its trunk lid sports a hefty spoiler, with the rear diffuser, side skirt attachments, and front air intakes all crafted from carbon fibre. Remember, options like centerlock wheels, a larger wing, and a roof spoiler are also available for your second-generation M2. These enhancements are just a few M Performance Parts compatible with the M2.

You’re not alone if you think it’s a bit too much. Fortunately, there’s no need to purchase the whole set of M Performance Parts, as they’re sold individually. Customers can personalize their M2s with just the accessories they prefer. The 2023 Auto Zurich show car exemplifies the G87, equipped with nearly all available add-ons, showcasing the extent of customization options.

BMW is actively developing a new CS version of the M2, slated for release in the next two years, adding a new dimension of customization. The model will boast a ducktail spoiler, echoing the M4 CSL, M3 CSL E46 design, and 3.0 CSL E9. Rumours suggest it might launch in at least one unique colour, initially exclusive to this variant. Many current optional carbon fibre features will likely become standard on the M2 CS. In terms of aesthetics, BMW plans to introduce a more aggressive front splitter and a new wheel design by 2025, further enhancing the car’s visual impact. There is also buzz about a potential power increase, possibly exceeding 500 horsepower.
