An optional carbon-fiber roof is available for the 3 Series LCI’s M Performance variants. However, they only offer it for the sedan. Here, a distinctive Signal Green paint makes the M340d Touring stand out. Tom Chappell photographed this wagon for the Stephen James BMW Group store. It also gets the historic Motorsport emblem. This badge is available for all M and M Sport vehicles until the end of this year.

The kidney grille on the mildly updated M340d xDrive showcases a redesigned honeycomb pattern. This certain grille gets a blacked-out pattern since it has the optional M high-gloss Shadow Line option. The upgrades of G21’s front bumpers match the X3 and X4 LCI. On the other hand, its LED daytime running lights look sharper than the ones on the pre-LCI 3er.

The M340d Touring is available in a few countries. Inside, it has the iDrive 8 infotainment system. This is the same with the other 3 Series, including the M3 Sedan. The 2023 BMW M340d Touring LCI carries a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. But now, the inline-six gets a brief electric boost from the 48V mild-hybrid technology.

The M340d Touring maintains its status as a stylish road runner with its power. Its generous 700 Nm (516 pound-feet) of torque is available from just 1,750 rpm. Also, its eight-speed automatic transmission transmits the 340 horsepower to both axles for smooth cruising. It is important to note that the mild-hybrid technology adds 11 horsepower to this. It is the same with all the other powertrains that now feature 48V.
