BMW DTM joins double-header weekends

After two weeks without racing, the current DTM season continues to its final phase this weekend. While the DTM was on a break, motorsport enthusiasts were treated with plenty of racing events. This includes the racing events at Nurburgring or Indianapolis. In those events, we’ve seen that the BMW cars really performed competently. Once again, the BMW M4 DTM will be on tracks at Zolder this weekend.

The double-header happening on weekends will be hosted by the Belgian track. Where the round seven will take place between October 9 and 1. Meanwhile, the round eight for that double-header race will be between October 16 and 18. The DTM’s first ever race took place on that same track on March 11, 1984, making this event a special race for the DTM. At the same time, that race was won by Harald Grohs, driving a BMW 635 CSi. It was only in 2019 when the DTM calendar returned to the Zolder track after it was taken off in 2002.

“The final stages of this unusual and compact season is here. And from last year’s success and spending a two back-to-back races this weekends makes us greatly look forward to returning to Zolder. It remains to be our goal to be at the front of the races, and claim more wins and podiums.”

Jens Marquardt added, “Our drivers, teams and staffs, are all passionate racers and are working diligently to produce incredible wins and results this season.”

Unfortunately for BMW, Audi has already snatched the Manufacturer title, while the Driver’s title was given to Nico Muller. This leaves the upcoming races be only for personal records and a practice for the upcoming season. Which is more unlikely to happen as Audi announced their pull out from the competition.

The Zolder track opened opportunities for BMW to acquire an amazing track record. We are expectantly waiting for BMW to once again sweep the race and claim the number one spot on the podium.
