BMW’s U.S. website now features the eagerly awaited 540i xDrive in its online configurator. With a turbocharged inline-six engine, this 3.0-litre powerhouse, entering production this month, boasts 375 hp and 384 lb-ft— 40 hp and 52 lb-ft improvements over its G30 predecessor.
The mild-hybrid technology propels the 540i xDrive’s total torque to 398 lb-ft, enabling a swift 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. The inline-six model, exclusively available with AWD, offers an optional M Sport Package for an extra price. Choose from various colours, including the unique Cape York Green, and customized wheels from 19 to 21 inches.
Interior options include complimentary vegan upholsteries (Veganza) and an Extended Merino option. 540i xDrive offers numerous customization choices. Electric enthusiasts can explore the base i5 eDrive40 and the i5 M60.
Although the configurator lacks the anticipated $69,800 i5 xDrive, BMW promises its debut next year. The M5, set to debut in sedan and wagon versions, is expected to surpass six figures.
