BMW X1 M35i: A Closer Look at Performance, Personalization

BMW’s revolutionary X1 M35i M Performance model offers customization options worth over $10,000 on its $49,900 MSRP base. Notably, the Frozen Pure Grey Metallic paint costs $2,350, adding exclusivity. The X1 M35i’s default 19-inch wheels can be upgraded with three 20-inch sets, each at $600, paired with performance tires. Interior upholstery options like Black M Alcantara and Oyster, Red/Black, Mocha, and Black perforated artificial leather are free to choose.

Diving into the finer details, BMW offers a range of trims for tailored interior aesthetics. Interior trims, including Aluminum Mesh Effect, Aluminum Hexacube, and Black High Gloss, are standard. Eucalyptus Open Pored Fine-wood trim costs $200. The $1,700 Driving Assistance Professional Package includes active cruise control and lane-keeping assistance.

Selecting the Driving Assistance Professional Package includes the $2,800 Premium Package with features like an interior camera and panoramic moonroof. Completing the ensemble, the $500 Shadowline Package adds blackout elements. The fully-loaded X1 M35i totals $59,950, with a $995 destination fee.

The US launch is in October, followed by Europe. The high-performance crossover is assembled in Regensburg, complying with strict emissions rules. An equivalent X2 M35i is expected in 2024.
