The Thrilling Finale for the BMW i8 Coupe and Roadster

Two weeks ago, the last 18 models of the BMW i8 received its momentous send-off that showcased both its coupe and roadster models. The revolutionary electric sports car currently has a total of 20,465 units on the market, thus reaching its official final production statistics.

Since the i8 Roadster was launched at a later date and with a higher asking price, the i8 Coupe obviously received a higher appreciation from the consumers. The BMW Group’s first mass production of this trendsetting plug-in hybrid ended last June 11, 2020. Overall, there were 16,581 BMW i8 Coupes built in Leipzig, Germany. For its last copy of the model, they decided to paint it in Portimao Blue.

Compared to the four-seater coupe, the two-seater BMW i8 Roadster gains a more top-end quality because of its two “emergency seats”. These were specially built in the rear. Since around the summer of 2018, the roadster model reaches 3,884 units.

At that same time of the year, the BMW i8 added a small upturn in its output, thus experiencing its speed from 362 hp to 374 hp. The power output increase was accomplished through the electric motor’s “tune”. Right from the start, we can say that the BMW i8 was only meant to be assembled as a greater version. With an electric range that can reach between 40 and 50+ kilometers, the BMW i8’s revamp is obviously exciting to experience.
