The New i5 Sedan Takes Center Stage at IAA Mobility

BMW made waves at this year’s IAA Mobility in Munich, showcasing the fully electric i5 alongside their Vision Neue Klasse concept. The i5, available in eDrive40 trim, is a standout model that can be driven today, minus the M60’s sporty touch.

While not bearing the M Performance badge, the i5 doesn’t shy away from performance, thanks to the M Sport Package. With a Brooklyn Grey exterior and striking 21-inch two-tone wheels, it’s a stylish embodiment of BMW’s timeless design. All of this is underpinned by the versatile CLAR platform.

Inside, the i5 introduces BMW’s first fully vegan interior with Veganza upholstery in espresso brown. The dashboard offers standard aluminium rhombicle trim but can be upgraded with a crystal gear selector and rotary knob as part of the iDrive 8.5 package.

While currently only available as a sedan, BMW has exciting plans for the future. The i5 Touring arrives in 2024, with an M60 variant for performance enthusiasts. Additionally, the iconic M5 wagon returns next year, solidifying BMW’s electrifying and diverse future.
