BMW i5 Shines in Brooklyn Grey at Ireland Series 5 Launch

BMW’s G60, the eighth-gen luxury sedan, debuts in select markets, featuring Ireland in the phased launch. At the official Irish introduction, the spotlight shines on the all-electric 5 Series Sedan, the i5. This rollout echoes past regional debuts. The showcased model, an eDrive40, opts for a single motor with a rear-wheel drive over the dual-motor xDrive of the more robust M60 variant.

BMW’s latest car showcases, including this electrified 5 Series, often feature the M Sport Package. Some regions offer an M Sport Pro package, which adds black accents like the illuminated kidney grille and trunk lid spoiler. Numerous Shadowline enhancements complement the Brooklyn Grey finish of this zero-emissions 5er. Contrasting sharply with these are the M Sport brakes with their red callipers.

The wheels are 20-inch 938 M style, featuring two-tone spokes with an M logo. Customers can opt for different wheel sizes, affecting the electric vehicle’s range. Smaller wheels can save costs and boost the car’s efficiency, as larger wheels generally decrease it.

BMW Ireland spotlights the 2024 i5 eDrive40, featuring a vegan interior in Smoke White. This right-hand drive model boasts Aluminum Rhombicle trim and a sporty steering wheel. The new 5 Series pioneers BMW’s commitment to vegan interiors, a choice soon available in MINIs. Next year, Europe will see a new i5 model with xDrive. Meanwhile, the U.S. welcomes the i5 xDrive40 at $69,800, a $3,000 premium over the eDrive40, plus a $995 destination charge.
