BMW i4 electric Gran Coupe Gets AC Schnitzer Tuning

AC Schnitzer may be better famous for their work with petrol and diesel vehicles. Still, they have no problem taking on the challenge of tuning electric cars. The German tuning firm is no longer concerned with modifying the BMW i4’s engine or exhaust system but with the vehicle’s suspension and exterior design. The first change is a sport suspension that reduces the vehicle’s overall height. The i4 has been lowered by 0.98 inches, with the front sitting 0.78 inches lower. The BMW i4 M50 should already improve driving dynamics with a lower centre of gravity.

The exterior architecture is up next for renovations. The BMW i4’s M Sport package includes a carbon fibre front splitter and canards located at the front of the electric vehicle. More ornamental elements have been added to the side gills as well. The BMW i4 comes standard with a small roof spoiler at the back. Of course, there’s a carbon fibre spoiler atop the trunk, and lightweight winglets enhance the vehicle’s aerodynamics by resting over the taillights.

No AC Schnitzer build would be complete without a set of speciality wheels. The German store sells custom bicycles with two wheels. The design of one is a five-spoke pattern in either black and silver or a solid black colour. An alternative wheel finish is available in silver-anthracite or plain anthracite paint. It’s not apparent how the upgraded wheels affect electric mileage.

The inside is also part of the project’s tuning scope. AC Schnitzer’s signature aluminium footrest, pedals, and iDrive cover are included. Also included is a particular container for the key. Everything else inside is a standard 4 Series layout. Below, you’ll find a photo gallery showcasing AC Schnitzer’s modifications to the BMW i4 and a video showing the car racing around the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
