BMW Vision EfficientDynamics will be sold at $200,000

Insideline reported that BMW’s Sales and Marketing Director Ian Robertson revealed that the future BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics will be priced at approximately $200,000. He said that the hybrid supercar will “redefine how we look at high-performance sports cars,” when it is introduced in 2013.

The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics was shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. Many BMW enthusiasts are excited about the production of the first BMW hybrid supercar. Robertson said that the price point has not been finalized yet, but it will definitely “compete with Ferraris and high-end Porsches.” Robertson indicated that the price would be around $200,000.

The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics will be built under Project i and will be manufactured in Leipzig plant in Germany. It will mostly be made from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) components which are 30% lighter than aluminum.

Rumor has it that the production ready vehicle will be showcased at the 2012 Olympics in London.
