    offset questions???

    Hi,

    Assuming 2 rims:
    1) 9 width and offset of 20

    2) 8.5 width and offset of 20

Am i correct to assume that rim 1 will protrude out 0.5 inch more ( abt 12mm) more than rim 2?

If i add a spacer of 12mm to rim 2, will the overall effect be the same? Thanks.

    Re: offset questions???

    1 inch = 14mm offset difference

So Rim 1 will protrude 7mm more

Therefore in your example for Rim 2 to be the same as Rim 1, it has to be 8.5J offset 13

    Re: offset questions???

Vincent is correct. Rim 1 will be protruding by 6.35mm more than rim 2 to be precise. If you want the same overall effect, you will have to add 6/7 mm spacer. And yes, rim 2 has to have +13 or 14 offset to have the same flush effect as rim 1.
