E90 Rotora Brakes
Hi Guys
We have just brought in a set of Rotora Brake Calliper kit for those who like a bit more bite out of the brakes. The kit was made for the E90 320 and uses 348mm and 300mm (F+R) ventilated sloted discs. The guys at Rotora took into account the difference in brake discs and sized the discs accordingly to maintain the proper brake bias.
The front 6 Pot calliper uses the folllowing piston sizes: 32mm, 27mm and 23mm. This gives a total surface area of 3582 sq mm. The rear uses 27mm and 27mm pistons that gives a total of 2290 sq mm. As such the bias ratio is about 0.63. The stock pistons run 57mm and 40mm which gives a ratio of 0.48. So to compensate for the different disc size, Rotora used larger pistons in the rear to increase the brake force.
The benefits of this setup is the relative cost savings due to the usage of stock BMW sized discs and the ease of installation. The entire kit is bolt on and all that is needed is to cut the rear backing plate slightly.
Here are some pics. Please enjoy. If you have any queries, please call us.R2D

Re: E90 Rotora Brakes
Its important to note that the brakes come complete and there is nothing to fabricate. In addition, Rotora will have complete support here in Singapore and you will be able to get pads, discs and even seals. There are standard pads, track pads and even race pads.
The good points about the brake setup is the fact that the brackets are made of steel and are C&C machined at the factory. These are extremely strong. The calliper has lots of details with exposed bolts, pipes and other little bits to up the bling factor.
Here are some more pics.
Right now, since we have been appointed, Rotora is willing to make us an introductory offer and the first couple of sets get a discount and we are passing the discounts to you. There are kits for the E60, E90 and E46.
Cheers.Last edited by R2D; 19-07-2009 at 07:45 PM.

Re: E90 Rotora Brakes
is Rotora making larger front & rear discs?

Re: E90 Rotora Brakes
Nope, this is a calliper kit and the front uses the 335 sized discs for the front mated to a 6 pot calliper. For the rear, they used the 323 ventilated rear discs to minimise rotational weight and used bigger pistons to counter the brake bias issues.
In the photos, Rotora supplied the slotted discs to eradicate pad glazing and maximising bite.

Re: E90 Rotora Brakes
Sorry dude, the kit in the picture fits 18" rims. If you want to keep to 17", there is a smaller kit that is even cheaper.

Re: E90 Rotora Brakes
Hi Tom, there are 2 versions available. The calliper kit and the Big Brake Kit. the calliper kit uses the biggest discs available for that model and they mate it with callipers. So for the 320i, 323i, 325i and 330i, they use the 348mm discs size from the 335i to make the brakes. So with this in mind, they spec the rear callipers int he same way to maintian the correct brake bias. The BBKs use custom brake discs of 330mm, 355mm, 380mm and the 405mm 2 pc floating disc.
For the E46, there is also a calliper kit that is based on the 300mm disc. (the 300mm discs come from the 325i) Are you keen?
Sent you a PM liao.
thanks for the interest.R2D
