Check This Out A very interesting car, the Lancia Thema 8.32

came across this car whilst flipping thru some magazines, did some searches of google and turns out, this is one helluva unique automobile. They don't make cars like this anymore

quote from wiki
Quote:
Thema 8.32

The ultimate Thema, the 8.32 was built Lancia's S. Paolo plant in Turin,[3] it used a 3.0 L Engine. This engine was based on that of the Ferrari 308 qv with some being assembled by Ducati from castings made at Maranello and featured a traditional V8 with 90 degree crankpin type crankshaft rather than the 180 degree crankpin type used in Ferrari V8 engined cars . It produced 215 bhp (158 kW) and was capable of 149 mph (240 km/h) in the Series 1 and Series 2 incarnation non catylist form. The Series 1 and Series 2 engine in catalyst form was slightly detuned to 205 bhp (151 kW) and was correspondingly slightly slower.

The car offered good performance (though the Turbo version was quicker than the catalytic version from 0 to 100 km/h) and excellent refinement, including a luxurious wood-and-leather interior by Poltrona Frau complete with the same luxury equipment as LX versions of the model. Unfortunately, a price tag of £40,000 (or more) in Britain, and the fact that only left hand drive versions were produced, limited its appeal, with only 9 being officially sold there. It was even a rare sight on Italian roads, with just 2370 Series 1 built between 1986 and 1988 and 1601 Series 2 built between 1989 and 1992 including 32 numbered special Rosso red versions.

0-100: 7.7secs
max spd: 234km/h (this was back in 1990)

There were quite a few of the regular 2 litre Thema sedans here in the early 90s -- it was one of the more popular Type Four cars, after the Saab 9000. Many seemed to be black 16v models for some reason.

No, part of the Type 4 quadruplets; I remember now and it is called Fiat Croma Turbo. Semi hatch/ notch.

As for the 124 Sport - that is a classic but pales when compared to the Alfa GTVs (Series 105)

The Coupe Fiat was good fun but torque steer is quite scary. That is Bangle before he moved to BMW

Re: A very interesting car, the Lancia Thema 8.32

There was a nice Fiat 124 coupe parked in front of my Porker on the driveway of Grand Copthorne late last Friday night. Think I've seen that car around town a number of times. Paint looks nice and fresh.

The Croma was probably the most forgettable of the Type Fours! I'd do a Saab 9000 or Alfa 164 anyday.

Twin cam, twin Webers, 1800cc, nice glasshouse and a nice exhaust note that only cabuerators can provide

Modern Fiats are pathetic. period.
