this 9FF is utterly, totally customized to achieve only 1 thing - top speed. It is a straightline dart. No consideration for any cornering prowess, or track prowess.

Do my eyes deceive me or has the wheelbase been stretched over a standard 911?

yes it has been stretched. The longer the better as an optimization towards straightline speed - eg. just take a look at the top fuel dragsters.
