integrated ipod interface + bluetooth kit for e9x / e6x without and with i-drive

Hi All,

Just an update, we managed to get my car coded for bluetooth phone kit as well as ipod.

So here's a list of features as of now.

1. ipod interface (songs and playlist shows on stock headunit display or idrive)
2. ipod playlists and song titles, able to scroll the list and song titles
3. steering wheel controls integrated
4. Audio is through MOST fibre optic channel, not through your Aux.
5. Bluetooth phone kit integrates with stock steering wheel button for phone (answer, hangup, switch to phone mode on radio)
6. Phonebook display, scoll and dial through headunit or steering wheel controls. Subject to phone compatibility
7. Phone speaker phone uses stock headunit - no additional speakers need to be installed
8. Microphone for bluetooth needs to be installed.
9. When call comes in, it will display on headunit (or i-drive <- subject to testing)
10. When call is accepted or in-progress it will must radio, cd player, ipod.
11. Can dial through headunit without entry in phonebook.
12. Car recognises that there is a phone in the car, so when you browse the BMW service numbers coded in your radio and you click the right knob it actually dials those numbers with your phone!

Ok, we've done brief testing tonight on the following phones:

1. Nokia e61, accept/dial calls, phonebook display - ok
2. iPhone firmware 1.3 (i think) - accept/dial calls, phonebook display - ok
3. iMate Windows Mobile phone - accept/dial calls - ok, phonebook not listing

Bluetooth compability is an issue as certain phones in the market have different implementation for phonebook transfer. But at least with the mObridge it works with the Nokia Symbian device.

ipod inteface tested:


1. ipod nano (previous generation) - able to list songs rather quickly, able to navigate playlists and show track names. Does not show CD1 Track 1, but rather shows the full titles of the songs like the playlists . Steering wheel controls working.

2. iphone - able to list songs rather quickly, navigate playlists and show tracknames. Steering wheel controls working.

3. charges ipod/iphone in the meantime.

Price we're working on it with the install and the coding of the car required. Will update again in a couple of days.
