R-Class

Mercedes-AMG is unveiling the brand-new R 63 AMG at the Chicago Auto Show (February 10 to 19, 2006). This particularly dynamic interpretation of the Mercedes-Benz R-Class is powered by the new AMG 6.3-litre V8-engine. With an output of 375 kW/510 hp, 630 Newton metres of torque and permanent four-wheel drive, the Grand Sports Tourer by AMG offers an unprecedented combination of unrivalled sportiness, spaciousness and top-class comfort for up to six passengers. The R 63 AMG with the short wheelbase accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds (R 63 AMG with long wheelbase: 5.1 seconds) and has a maximum speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). Power is transferred by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission with steering wheel gearshift buttons, a DIRECT SELECT shift lever and three driving modes.

E-Class

After four years in production and around a million vehicles sold, Mercedes-Benz is presenting the new generation of its world-beating E-Class. Some 2000 parts in the E-Class are new or further developments. The Saloon and Estate boast new bodystyling, which is even more dynamic, poised and assured than before. The E-Class is once again setting the benchmark as the technology trendsetter. No other car in this market segment can match the range of safety innovations including PRE-SAFE®, Intelligent Light System, NECK-PRO head restraints and adaptive brake lights. These extensive safety features make the E-Class the safest car in its class. The DIRECT CONTROL package, with more direct steering and a retuned suspension, and six new or enhanced engines take agility and driving pleasure to new heights. Maintaining the same level of fuel economy, these engines develop up to 26 percent more output and 18 percent more torque. The prices for the four and six-cylinder models remain unchanged despite the more extensive standard specification.

SL-Class

Four years on from its launch, the successful Mercedes-Benz SL-Class has under-gone a number of enhancements, the most significant being in the areas of technology, design and interior appointments. The engines, powertrain and chassis have been optimised to deliver a sportier response so that the unique Roadster now offers an even more enjoyable dynamic driving experience, while perpetuating the "SL legend" which has existed for over 50 years.

GL-Class

Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the European premiere of the new GL-Class, which is now to be available for the first time with state-of-the-art diesel technology and a standard-fit diesel particulate filter in models GL 320 CDI and GL 420 CDI. The seven-seater premium off-roader offers excellent handling both on and off-road and pampers occupants with its extremely spacious accommodation and the comfort of a luxury saloon. The GL-Class sets another milestone with the comprehensive PRE-SAFE® safety concept, a first in this market segment.

Sprinter

Eleven years and approximately 1.3 million units after making its debut, the European market leader in the 3.5 t GVW van sector, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, now has a successor. It may be somewhat misleading to talk about "the new Sprinter" when there will actually be something like a thousand different ver-sions of this vehicle. The different wheelbase versions, lengths, heights, weight ratings, body types, engines and transmission versions alone add up to around 1,000 basic model versions. For example the Sprinter is available in three wheel-base versions (3250/3665/4325 mm), four lengths (in the case of closed-body versions) from 5243 to 7343 mm and with a choice of standard roof, high roof or the new super-high roof.

Motorisation: All the diesel engines have Euro 4 or EU 4/III low emissions rating and are equipped as standard with a particulate filter. The four-cylinder OM 646 CDI turbodiesel engine: Four output ratings ranging from 65 kW/88 hp to 110 kW/150 hp. The new top-of-the-line diesel engine is the OM 642: V6 135 kW/184 hp. A new performance dimension: M 272 V6 petrol engine 190 kW/258 hp.

CLK-Class

In the CLK 63 AMG Coupé and Cabriolet models too, which are likewise making their world debut in Geneva, the AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine creates an awesome driving experience. The CLK 63 AMG produces more power and torque – 354 kW/481 hp and 630 Newton metres – than any other vehicle in this class. The new AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission complements it perfectly, helping to ensure dynamic power delivery. The new AMG sports suspension, new 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and luxurious and dynamic standard appointments add to the exclusive and sporty theme of the CLK family. Viano

Providing the best possible level of occupant safety every time – The most recent confirmation of this was delivered following a series of independent crash tests carried out on the Viano MPV by the German car magazine „Firmenauto“ in col-laboration with the testing organisation Dekra. The results of these tests are on a par with a five-star EURO NCAP rating, the highest score achievable. Safety equipment: driver and front-passenger airbags as well as three-point seat belts and height-adjustable head restraints for all seats. The front seat belts are equip-ped with pyrotechnic belt tensioners and belt force limiters. Accident prevention is the first line of defence before passive safety. Viano and Vito are the only vehicles in their respective classes to be fitted with ESP, ABS, BAS, EBV and accelera-tion skid control (ASR) as standard.

The new CLS 63 AMG is an exceptional automobile offering impressive performance, dynamic styling and an exclusive interior. ML-Class

The Mercedes off-roader sets new standards particularly with regard to passive safety. The unitised body with its high-strength passenger compartment and generous deformation zones front and rear provides the basic foundation for out-standing occupant protection. Adaptive two-stage front airbags for the driver and front passenger, front sidebags, windowbags, belt tensioners and belt force limiters are all standard specification. One unique new feature in the SUV segment is the PRE-SAFE® anticipatory occupant protection system. In critical driving situations where an accident threatens, the system cuts in like an athlete's reflexes, preparing the occupants and the vehicle for a potential collision.
