From what i know for BMW when i buy the e46( around March 2004), the 3 series here made in South Africa, the 5 and 7 series made in Germany.
Mercedes the same, C-class made in South Africa, E and S -class made in Germany. Not too sure about Audi

some BMWs are also made/assembled in Malaysia and China for local market...

Singapore:
All RHD MB W203 C-class are made in South Africa. W124 E220 made in india PML's E46 sedan made in South Africa. Some PIs' ones are from Germany. Z3 made in USA.

e46s coupes & cabs are from germany. that is still correct when I spoke to the purchaser from bmw asia

BMW's low end models e.g 316 318 are imported from S Africa. The 728's are from Thailand.
MB the C180, A160 are from Spain. There are Audi, MB and BMW factories in China

Z4s are (or will be) made in the US, at least some of them.
