Re: ERP rates, more gantries to go up - Road tax cut by 15% (like wah,big deal)

i would prefer that LTA collect more road tax to build more roads instead of collecting ERP and solving nothing.

a 5 year old will know that more cars need more roads.how come scholars at LTA lose to 5 year old ?

simple, car ownership should increase in tandem with roads. Since our roads are not growing that fast vs cars, even if they do the speed limit at KPE is 70kmh, whats the point? Since LTA is so proud of the COE system, which I think is the surest way to control car population, just reduce COEs lor. Else, ERP gantries will only attract people to places without them, like people rushing to get deals from Great SG Sale. Sale over, back to normal. Set up ERP at toa payoh, people go by bishan. set up at bishan people go via Ang Mo Kio, set up at AMK, people go back to Toa Payoh

ABD LTA

ABD ah hia.. like this they everywhere set up our car must go take bump boat liao... tsk..tsk..

Built roads = spend $$$., COE & ERP = earn $$$., I think this one 4 yrs old also know.. like DV mentioned.. LTA loss to 5 yr old.. haiz.

Sometime think already si be tu lang... KNN....

Re: ERP rates, more gantries to go up - Road tax cut by 15% (like wah,big deal)

Wow DV, we are like brothers.

I agree totally.

To crystallize on that, I REALLY don't mind to pay whatever amount they charge me, after all, if I cannot afford I just take MRT+bus.

BUT, All funds collected by way of ROAD, be used to improve ROAD SYSTEM.

DO NOT USE ROAD FUNDS TO IMPROVE OTHER SERVICES.

This is because, each transport system to live and die by itself. One cannot use a successful system (market acceptance) to subsidize a system which is idealistically good (but not accepted by market).

Only then, will good decisions be made.

Raymond Lim - please don't be an idealist. Please be a market watcher.

Re: ERP rates, more gantries to go up - Road tax cut by 15% (like wah,big deal)

Raymond watching 850,000 vehicle topping up cash car constantly.. his gantries zapz zapz zapz...like $5 per vehicle per day average... annual income = > 1.0 billion...15% Road tax cut subsidy $110 mil.... say until like bullock cart...

I really hate that statement mentioning that increasing road capacity and traffic engineery does not mean smooth flowing traffic... WTF...from the day the first gantry was put up till now... who dare say the traffic congestion situation has improved?.... it just getting worst....KNNCCB...
